“We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.” John Lennon
This is one of my earliest poems I still have, I wrote this when I was in middle school.
Precious
So careless,
So cruel,
Don’t you know?
Don’t you care?
I have feelings too just in case you forgot,
If you find this entertaining please stop,
I’m sensitive,
I’m precious,
I thought you would understand,
Live in my fairly tale, Be my man,
You walk right by me,
Tears stream down my face,
You keep on walking,
The bad memories are the ones I can’t erase,
I guess I was wrong,
If your gone everything would still be the same,
I’m still the only one to blame,
I’m sensitive,
I’m precious,
I’m supposed to be yours,
Your special one,
But obviously I’m not,
I’m crushed,
I feel as though I could die,
You weren’t careful enough with these feelings of mine,
I’m sensitive,
I’m precious.
